Mt. Ararat has been legendary since Biblical times; when after the Great flood according to the Bible Noah left his ark on the slopes of Ararat and started his journey to create new life on Earth. Since then, the mountain became a holy symbol for believers all over the world and its stones are the silent witnesses to Noah’s story.

Throughout centuries Armenians built many capital cities in Ararat valley and up to now just from any point of Yerevan, Mount Ararat is always seen. Most of the time, its highest peaks are covered with clouds and fog but that never hides its presence.
